We work alongside the Advocacy Center and Cornell Cooperative Extension to support young Tompkins County parents, age 16-26, in gaining the skills and knowledge to keep yourself and your children safe from abuse and violence and make gains in accessing stable housing, education, employment, financial stability and the skills necessary to live independently and raise a family.
Staff will help you to engage in program services, needed treatment and other community resources while working on long-term goals unique to you and your individual needs and interests.
This program offers the following services:
Intensive Case Management: Meet with an Advocate/Case Manager who will assist you to identify goals, challenges and needs, access services and connect you with other resources.
Immediate Concrete, Financial and Basic Needs: Obtain basic supplies and get help to apply for programs such as Temporary Assistance, SNAP, WIC, Medicaid and HEAP
Intimate Partner and Family Violence Prevention: Educational programs, support groups and individual/group counseling
Mental Health Counseling: 1:1 short term counseling/support when you need it
Parenting Education and Family Coaching/Support: Formal and informal parenting education and play groups for you and your child
Independent Living Skills Development: Instruction and support to develop self-care and make positive choices that promote health, wellness, financial stability and safety for you and your child
Housing Support: Get help to stabilize your housing situation
Education/Employment: Encouragement and support to continuation your education or meet your employment goals
Community Services/Resources Access:
Peer Mentoring/Parent Leadership: Help other parents and develop leadership skills
